Cobbler is a baked dessert consisting of a fruit covered with a batter before being baked.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
8 – 10 strawberries, each cut into four pieces
3/4 cup rising flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp melted butter
3/4 cup milk
Pre-heat oven to 350F. Grease a baking dish (I used a 6″ x 9″ glass dish) with butter and spread the strawberry pieces uniformly. In a large bowl, mix the rising flour with sugar, melted butter and milk to obtain a smooth batter without lumps. Pour the batter into the baking dish until the batter partly covers the strawberry pieces. Place it in the oven and bake for approximately one hour.
After 45 minutes, keep checking on it by peeping through the oven window. The cobbler is ready for removal from the oven when the surface turns light brown.
Serve hot or warm with vanilla bean ice cream.
